Help!
Welcome to DragonClaw, the homepage for the multi-user text-based roleplay, "Midnight Sun"!
Here is where you can register, create your characters and read up on the characters that others have created.
First things first, registration: After registering, you will require one of the site Admins to approve your account. We are usually fairly snappy with this, however it may take a day or two depending on circumstances. After registering (and being approved) you'll need to create your first character!
This is equally simple. After logging in, in the top-right of the webpage you should see a box containing your username along with some statistics about your account. Under this box, you will find a tab called "Characters" - Click it! The new page that appears will be empty as of the moment, but never fear! At the bottom of this box there is another tab called "New Character" - this will take you to the character creation screen!
Don't worry, you don't have to fill in all the boxes, however we recommend you fill in the obvious ones: First and Last name (this is what will appear when you speak in character) Age, gender, height and weight, and finally appearance. All of this information will appear when someone looks at your character, and similarly you will see this information when you look at another character - this will be explained later. Once you are happy with your character, click "Submit" at the bottom of the screen.
You will now see your character in the Characters screen. Jubilations! You now have a character! Beside the name, there should be a box that reads [Edit] clicking this will allow you to edit your character at any time.
Now, you're ready to enter the world of Midnight Sun! To enter MS, you will require a MUD client. If you do not already have one, we recommend BeipMU: http://www.beipmu.com/ Download, save to desktop or wherever you wish (there is no installation needed, just a download) and run the program. Once it has loaded, click the picture of the plug in the top corner (when you hover over it, it should read "Connect"). From the window that pops up, select [New] -> [Server]. An entry should appear that reads [*NewShortcut]. Select this, then in the right-hand side of the window fill in the following information:
Name: Midnight Sun
Info: <Leave this blank>
Host: midnight.dragonclaw.co.uk
Port: 7007
Once you have done this, click [Connect], and you will (hopefully) see a splashscreen that reads "Midnight Sun" and asks for input! Type into the box at the bottom of the BeipMU screen "#login" then follow the on-screen prompts for your email and password.
Welcome to Midnight Sun! To speak in character, simply type "#ic enteryourmessagehere", or to talk out of character do the same but put #ooc before your message - a full list of commands can be found with #help. If you get stuck with something, the players will happily help you (people with green names) or better yet, an Admin may be on hand to help (people with dark purple / blue names).
